Last week I was in Paris for 3 days for work but I had to try to catch a glimpse at the JEU DE PAUME PLANETE PARR EXHIBIT, but I only had 20 mn to do it. last time I saw Parr s work was the Mexico exhibit
in gallerie Kamel Mennour,a very different scale this time in the jeu de paume.
Parr is a very avid collectionneur of photography, postcards and objects as he admits himself collecting is a drug ,so from OBAMA souvenir flip flops to spice girl keyrings,to less innocent terrorist body bags after the 9/11 th it describes our society in a very kitsch way.

What I like most is the way I feel he looks at everyone with a very kind eye even if cruel sometimes I feel he still likes humanity despite everything .He is showing us what we are like parading animals in a zoo.
I discovered many interesting photographers there thanks to him and of course as on planete parr they all have a link with his work I think it seemed like they all belonged to the same family and if you like PARR chances are you will also like his collection because it is really telling the same tale over and over, the very real world of the working class and the sureeal world of the superich living on parallel dimension ,it also comes at a very interesting moment.

I can t help but wonder if he is collectable by these people if they actually buy his art as investment it would be fun wouldn t it !
