Last year while still living in Paris I went to the Agnes B gallery in rue Quinquampoix to see Shepard Fairey s exhibition, I only knew about his Giant ,Obey stickers which my boyfriend used to point at me quite regulary in the streets of Paris or London but thought nothing of it .
But when we got inside the gallery I was blown away, first the impression is purely visual shock these really powerful detailed posters covering the walls in this deep shade of red, black and white,
and the precision of his craft, the detailed wallpapers kind of flowers then you get a closer look and you read the messages within the flowers...

for me being a fan of Orwell 1984 it also turns up Fairey has made some covers for it I love it when these sort of thing happens sort of mind connections
,
V for Vendetta comics by Alan Moore was one of my favourite comics as a teenager and the movie adaptation was great these 2 posters are very inspired by Fairey although I can t find any information to confirm if they were actually made by him and don`t forget :
People should not be afraid of their government
Governments should be afraid of their people
so as I was saying mixing these concepts and arts appliques it was a true revelation ,"the shape and the content " clever messages in beautiful craft! A nice try to make the world a more beautiful and better place within society ....there is hope after all
after Banksy and despite him becoming such a mass market product where every stall in Camden and even clothes shops sell his reproductions ,which could be after all his main victory or his death as in either the message is passed on to all through his cool pictures or as in being everywhere his message becomes invisible, it is stimulating to watch these really talented and hard working craftsmen dedicating their amazing skills like old school artisans to pinpoint the scars of our society and try to make us sit still and think while we gaze at those beautiful pictures....
