DENIM BOUTIS BOLERO

After  a sunny holiday in Brittany back in London...

Ebay 7 057

The sales have started here too but I came back after 4 hours in oxford circus >>>empty handed !!! I could not find anything that I really really wanted...but back in Islington I found this cool little bolero denim boutis which reminds me  a lot of Isabel Marant collection. Ideally it would have little sleeves but it is still just what I wanted!

Ebay 7 114 scorah pattullo shoes, dress comptoir des cotonniers

Worn with wide denim it looks really 70 s !!!the denim suit will be my hommage to Farrah Fawcett I guess I used to be  a big fan of Charlie s Angels as  a kid ...then I will do a moonwalk for dear Mickael ...hum...no... maybe not!

THE FOXY TROXY

TROXY CAGE Yesterday we went to see the awsome Jarvis Cocker live at the TROXY which is a super kitsch venue ...they also do lots of cage boxing shows there  ...if some of the usual customers came last night they must have been slightly disapointed with this super skinny contestant dressed in 70 s gear I did not come for the boxing but I wish he had sung the eye of the tiger as in Barcelona this was the perfect place for it..

my American Vintage

I have received today  from the US a vintage jumpsuit that I found on ebay 2 weeks ago .It fits perfectly and has just the right shape...

Ebay 6 112

It has a very deep neckline which is fun as you can completely change the style of your outfit depending on the top you choose under the jumpsuit.I always had in mind this favourite camisole with  a lovely fish print by Paul and Joe it has  a retro feel which suits me ,add some light gold vintage shoes bought in montreuil flea market in the 90 s and my Jacey Withers deer necklace bought in the Whistles shop during the sales last season...

I think it s just as nice as the jumpsuits you can find everywhere at the moment but they usually are in polyester ...which I hate...here it is a lovely comfy cotton jersey...

Ebay 6 108   I love the shoulders !

EBAY 5 022 I have finally managed to make the hem on my snakeskin dress bought on ebay for 3 pounds! it was pinned for 6 months and was sitting  on  a shelf patiently... it is perfect for the english summer and I have just noticed it matches with the Scorah Pattullo heels also scored on ebay at  a bargain price ,add  a vintage bag and I have the whole outfit for less than 50 pounds !!!!Vintage is credit crunch friendly .I understand it may not be everybody s idea of chic but me ...I feel like  a million dollars in it!

here you can get  a better look at the shoes...

EBAY 5 023

T as le look Coco...tu fais le beau...

Coco-Before-Chanel-  Pictures from the 2 biopics about Coco Chanel are starting to leak on the web , the one with Audrey Tautou by Anne Fontaine and then the one with Anna Mouglalis by Jan Kounen...should be interesting as these 2 directors are so different!

Anna lit these 2 girls are both fantastic for the part , they look like her , they are both strong very clever womenAnna chanel in the same way Ines de la Fressange also was very much like the Chanel woman .

Coco-chanel-0902-01

Vrai chanel a beautiful name Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel for a life story not so different from  Edith Piaf starting in extreme poverty and loneliness  her mother died at 33 and her father left Gabrielle and her 2 sisters at an orphanage as he was planning to start a new life in the USA,she also tried her hand at singing in cabarets that is how she got her surname Coco but luckily she was also trained  to become a couturiere ...

both had  considerable drive and talent and awful bad luck in love ,but those same men helped them to rise  to the top...

both were left to mourn for the rest of their lives for their lost loves  as Edith lost Marcel in  a plane crash ...Chanel lost boy Capel in  a car crash...

she once said  in  a very Duras way:

" la mode c est quelque chose au bord du suicide"

fashion is something on the edge of suicide

I read her biography a long time ago and they said that   her famous double C logo was most likely inspired by the ones you find on the old lamposts in London engraved with double C gold letters when she visited the town with Boy...

final word to Chanel:

Manchette_coco "Le luxe ce n est pas le contraire de la pauvrete mais celui de la vulgarite"

luxe is not poverty s contrary s it s  vulgarity s

never been so true isn it?Paris_hilton cf

A TRUE MAN

Yesterday Richard came back with  a bag full of Truman Capote books , I read breakfast at Tiffany s and the other short stories that came with this book a long time ago ,and now it s time I get to know more about this great writer ...Noel 009

but on  a superficial level the cover is absolutely gorgeous, I can imagine Beaudelaire in  a flat like this....

CAPOTE

this Ana Sui poster looks like it belongs with Truman all of them sitting together him entertaining these young girls with outrageous stories about the socialites he wrote about with his poison pen ...

and what else did they deserve anyway?Arbus2002_125-thumb

I guess it was like feeding the pet dog caviar for years and having him on  a velvet cushion to entertain you

and how domesticated it looked Noel 010

and then  one day unexpected  he jumps and rips your throat open ....but then it was just a stray dog   Daido

no wonder he was full of rage at you and your privileges and empty lives, a beautiful shell ....with nothing inside it ...and he sat there all this time and he saw everything you did ....

FRIDA ET LE DRAGON

I have been playing around with some old necklaces and earrings instead of always wearing my usual julie sandlau beloved drop moon stones ,I have  lots of boxes full of old treasures hunted in flea markets in Brittany and Paris and now ebay as well....025but they were in drawer and I forgot about them until now really ...

these silver bracelets by metal pointus where purchased 20 yrs ago at Le Bon Marche after  a small inheritance my first big splash at the time  and I still love them as much ...the silver roses!

and last week I completed them with this charm barcelet from ebay it s really great there s a dog, a windmill ,a heart,a trumpet  etc...everything u need in life really!

I love it when they look vintage even though there are new

024 I love this pear shaped turquoise stone my mum gave me I have attached it to the dragonfly and blue stone and they get along fine...

024 bisthe necklace is by Caroline Smajda we used to work in the same company and then I met her again  by chance in  a fair and she has created a lovely collection which has been talked about on the blogs in Paris

then coral this wonderful colour , they say orange is  a very positive happy feeling colour if you believe in colour therapy well I say coral is my feel good colour on leather or suede for bags or shoes, wool, whatever just  a little touch of it on black or ivory it is great

016now I know that coral is destroyed all around the world but this old necklaces are here now we may as well wear them..... there s something magical about feeling coral on your neck and the colour is soo wonderful the wonders of nature....which we shall protect from now on...

015this mad brooch with green and red stones was found in a flea market on the ramblas of Barcelona and despite everybody going yuk at me  when they see it I love it ....it shines and the colours give me instant hapiness like it s from another planet and some crazy alien gave it to me as  a token of friendship between our 2 planets!

one who knew how to wear flamboyant costumes and vibrant colours was Frida Kahlo whom I adore since my trip in Mexico when I was 17 and stayed in a great family and they took me to la casa azul way before Madonna took over being her PR...

Madonna I used to love way back then ....but Frida she is still one of my TOP icons!just look at her!!!!!she is the best....

ROTHKO VERSUS PATTULLO

Rothko 1 When I first saw the Rothko in their usual room at Tate Modern I did not get it

I even made a baad joke about used tampax  hum....baaaad taste ....look who s sorry now

....but this exhibition ...yesss it realy moved me like entering  a special church something sacred here something s thereRothko 2 ....definitely ...especially once you see the layers exposed on film such dedication from this man to his art...beautiful craft ...that led him to his death .

then again I must have had  a mystic crises that week  as I had  another visual  shock when I discovered these on Yoox

054  I had to have them,my heart was beating fast  but  that price UGH noo way,by luck or because there is a  God that takes pity on shoes fanatics  they were listed on ebay and I grabbed  a real bargain , and you see sometimes beautiful things made by humans can make you touch the sacred because these shoes by SCORAH PATTULLO are DIVINE .....and they match with the Rothko poster!uh uh....it is fate ....
